Sewn Sonoma is the current project of Bay Area seamstress Liz Terbolizard.

Liz began sewing professionally shortly after arriving in San Francisco in 1991. Starting with clothing for adults, she shifted her focus to children’s products while raising her kid in the early 2000s. After years as a private-label supplier, she opened her own children’s clothing store in SF’s Noe Valley, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience before escaping the world of retail in pursuit of a better work/life balance.

Liz taught sewing, worked as a small business consultant, and made costumes, props, and sets for local theaters and festivals before pivoting to the world of interiors in 2006. Since then, she has built a reputation as an unparalleled source for custom home goods.

From her beginnings as a fashion designer to her present day focus on bespoke soft furnishings, Liz has acquired an abundance of creative and business experience. She can be found sewing trim onto giant cushions or meticulously matching patterns at her storefront/workshop in Occidental, CA Tuesday-Saturday (by appointment!)
